In 1900, George Lawrence built the world’s largest camera to take a photograph of the Alton Limited locomotive. The camera weighed 1400 pounds (640 kg) and used a 4.5′ × 8′ glass-plate negative.

There’s a lake in India full of ancient skeletons, all killed by blows to the head.
In 1942 a British forest guard in Roopkund, India made an alarming discovery. Some 16,000 feet above sea level, at the bottom of a small valley, was a frozen lake absolutely full of skeletons. That summer, the ice melting revealed even more skeletal remains, floating in the water and lying haphazardly around the lake’s edges. Something horrible had happened here.

My first complete taxidermy. I did a bit of blushing to try and make her look more ‘sleeping’… but the boyfriend is adamant she looks dead. Oh well. I love the end result.
I just wish I didn’t have to nestle her in fake flowers. I’ll have to find a better nesting material for her eventually.
